Gerber Baby Set Standard of a Pretty Baby

The most famous baby in the world for almost a century now has been the Gerber Baby. When measuring the looks of a baby we all tend to compare them to this ideal.

You have to admit that the Gerber Company really did choose a pretty baby to use as a branding tool and sky rocketed this face into fame! But the question is; does anybody know who this darling little cherub is?

Most people do not know the name of this very famous baby. There are all kinds of urban legends that this is Humphrey Bogart or Jane Seymour, Richard Nixon and Sally Gerber! I have found one site that says that it is a portrait of a 4 month old named Ann Turner Cook who is a retired teacher who now does mystery writing.

Gerber started in 1928 and since then everybody will say that they have a Gerber baby to let every one know how proud they are of their special bundle of joy. Baby pageants and contests all call for Gerber babies to enter! Who knew that this one baby would set the precedent for what a pretty baby is.
